Dr. Casden is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon who is a recognized expert in the new and exciting field of minimally invasive spinal surgery as well as more traditional spinal surgery. Dr. Casden has been consistently named one of New York Magazines’ Best Doctors, Castle Connollys’ Top Doctors in the New York Area and Top Doctors by U.S. News and World Report.
Dr. Casden’s comprehensive approach takes each patient’s lifestyle and expectations into consideration, and he focuses on offering the most sensible treatment option for each patient. While surgery may be required, Dr. Casden also works closely with the physiatrists in his office in order to prescribe a non-surgical treatment that can be highly effective at relieving patient symptoms. Non-operative treatment, including epidural injections, is performed in his office by the physiatrists. All appropriate treatment options are explored before Dr. Casden would recommend surgery. His surgical specialization includes the treatment of herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and degenerative disease of the spine. He has extensive experience in the field of spinal deformity, including scoliosis and kyphosis in both children and adults.
Dr. Casden was previously the Associate Director of the Spine Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center and is now Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center and School of Medicine.
