Dr. Dan Wiener graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine in 1984. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital and a residency in Emergency Medicine at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. Dr. Wiener is Board certified in Internal and Emergency Medicine
In 1993 Dr. Wiener became one of the founding core faculty members for the new Emergency Medicine Residency at St. Luke’s –Roosevelt. During his tenure at MSSL and MSRH he has been the Director of Pre-hospital Care, Program Director and Site Director at both campuses. As Chairman, he has founded the Divisions of Toxicology, Ultrasound, Global Health and Simulation. In addition to his role as Chairman of the Department, he is the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s and Roosevelt. His academic and research interests are focused on process redesign, quality improvement and patient safety. Recent publications have focused on CT utilization in the Emergency Department and the implementation of HIV screening programs with an emphasis on connecting patients with outpatient treatment.

Dr. Wiener’s academic and research interests are focused on process redesign, quality improvement and patient safety.
