Dr. Seiden completed his General Pediatric Residency (1990-1993) and Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship (1993-1996) at the Mount Sinai Hospital, NY. He then completed advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia before returning to Mount Sinai as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, where he served as Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit until 2004. Dr. Seiden joined the faculty at the Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center from 2004-2012, where he served as Associate Chief of Service, Director of Pediatric Cardiac Inpatient Services, and Program Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Training Program. He also rose to the rank of Associate Professor at the Hofstra School of Medicine. Dr. Seiden was recruited back to Mount Sinai Hospital in 2012, where he assumed the roles of Associate Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Training Program, Vice Chair for Career Development and Mentorship in the Department of Pediatrics, Director of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and Inpatient Services, and Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Clinical interests include congenital heart disease, heart failure, mechanical assist devices, and cardiac critical care. Recent research endeavors include work in genetics of congenital heart disease, quality improvement, and cardiac critical care. Dr. Seiden also has an interest in innovative educational programs and is the co-creator of the web-based AKESO program.
