Priti Batta, MD

Dr. Priti Batta is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in cornea disease, cataract surgery, and refractive eye surgery including LASIK. She is a member of the teaching faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, one of the most well-respected eye hospitals in the country. She is active in the ophthalmology residency training program, teaching the resident doctors both clinical and surgical skills. She is also the Director of Medical Student Education, and is Assistant Director of the General Eye Clinic. Dr. Batta sees patients in two private offices, one at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in Manhattan, and the other in Mineola in Long Island. Patients visiting Dr. Batta can receive a full range of eye-care services. She performs cataracts surgery including advanced "premium" lens surgery, corneal transplants, and laser refractive surgery such as LASIK and PRK. General eye examinations, prescriptions for eyeglasses, and diabetic eye screenings are also available.
In order to pursue her medical degree, Dr. Batta attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating with the highest academic honors. She continued her medical education with an internship at NYU Medical Center. Dr. Batta underwent ophthalmology residency training at the New England Eye Center, part of Tufts Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. In addition to her clinical, surgical, and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Batta remains involved in research projects, and has authored several research publications and academic book chapters. She has also been invited to give lectures at other hospitals in her areas of expertise. In addition, Dr. Batta has traveled abroad and provided medical care in developing countries as part of humanitarian missions.
